“Redefine Possible”

Spencer West was making headlines shortly after having summited Mt. Kilimanjaro on Monday, June 18. Many have summited Mt. Kilimanjaro, but what makes his accomplishment so remarkable is that he did this trek using only his hands. He was born with a genetic disorder (sacral agenesis) that forced his legs to be amputated when he was five years old.

“The reason for the trip is two-fold. One, to inspire others to achieve the impossible, a campaign called Redefine Possible. Two, he is trying to raise $750,000 — he’s raised $500,000 already — to build a clean water program for nearly 20,000 Kenyans with Free the Children.”

Only those who’ve actually made it to the top of Kilimanjaro can truly understand what an incredible feat Spencer West has achieved.
